As a kid, Warren showed high intelligence and was always regarded as someone who would make something of himself in life. Although he never had much as a child and lived in poverty, he was a strong student in school, and his classmates respected him for it. He lived with his mother. His father, a shoe shiner, was killed when Warren was 10. He loved his wife and Warren very much and his passing affected both of them. As Warren continued through school, he became a loner and he didn't have many friends. The death of his father made him isolated from the world, and he avoided speaking to people unless it was necessary. at this time, his grades even dwindled and he would occasionally skip class. He would get into arguments with his mother and the house often felt full of tension. Regardless of this, Warren made money any way he could in order to support his family and ensure that they had a place to live. By 17 Warren managed to make it through high school, but his family was in danger. His mother could barely make ends meet even with Warren working to help support themselves, and it didn’t look like he was going to be able to afford higher education. Worst of all, her health began to decline. The world came crashing down on him, and he felt like nothing he could do would end the lifelong struggle to survive. He beat himself up often and he felt like he had no one to turn to. He never went to college and instead he worked numerous jobs desperately fighting to survive. As the years passed, he took care of his mother, but she eventually passed away once Warren was in his mid 20’s. His mind went through extreme stress and despair, and once again he felt like his back was against the ropes. There seemed to be nothing that he could do to rise above the trials and tribulations of his life. Suddenly he found himself alone. He had no mother or father, and he was responsible for himself. He had to survive, but he was losing the will to. He could feel it, and he knew he find himself deep in a hole if he lost his motivation. He wanted a new attitude, and he would turn to anybody at this point, good or bad. Feeling discouraged, he found faith under the Lombardians and became a pastor. He feels like his role in Hellwaukee is to uplift the poor and to encourage the many people who wish to survive as he did in his younger days. At age 40, Warren takes great pride in helping the people of the the post apocalyptic world succeed, regardless of the struggles that they may encounter.
